Free Kitchen

As part of its “Food and Good Health for a Better Future” initiative, Proyecto Refugio, A.C. (PRAC) has successfully operated a free kitchen for over a decade, at its community dining hall, “Comedor El Refugio,” in the municipality of El Salto, Jalisco. The facility provides daily nutritious, hot, balanced meals for roughly 200 underprivileged children, senior citizens, pregnant and nursing mothers, and mothers in crisis. Although the centers free kitchen primarily caters to these demographics, its doors are open to anyone in a difficult situation, needing a hot meal.

For many of the children, seniors and other needy ones in the area, it is the only decent meal they eat all day. We cater to both the school children attending the morning shift and those attending the afternoon shift, which begins at 2:00PM.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, or senior in this program, or a nursing, pregnant or single mother, call today at the number listed below, or visit the 'Get involved' page for more information about how you can become a part of the solution.
