Food Pantry

With an ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor in Mexico, many find it extremely difficult to make ends meet and provide enough food for their families. Sadly, the effects of malnutrition can often be seen in impoverished districts.

To combat this malady, Proyecto Refugio A.C. runs a regular food distribution program, whereby struggling families, single mothers and the elderly can receive healthy food packages to help meet their nutritional needs.

Some months as many as 540 families receive supplies, including fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, rice, dried soya products, flour, eggs, etc. an amount which can total to up to 3 tons of uncooked food distributed. .
