Healthcare Center
In our new and well equipped clinic, Proyecto Refugio also provides free health care in the areas of General Family Health Care, Dental Health Care, Mental Health Care, and Ortopedic Care. In addition to these free primary care areas, the center also hosts a free medicine dispensary that is available to all, and offers disease-free lives to many who could otherwise suffer much more and for a longer period, without the expert care provided. Doctors of varying specialties donate their time to touch those in the community, making a lasting difference in thousands of lives. Patients are both diagnosed and treated with good quality medication until total health is restored.

Dental Health Care
Mal nutrition and poor hygiene take their toll on the dental health of children and adults alike. Proyecto Refugio provides, in a state of the art Dental Office, free dental health care to our constituency, an area with a population of over 90,000 needy inhabitants.
Mental Health Care:
A highly professional psychologist attends to the mental health needs of the many battered women, abused children, and whole families oppressed and dominated by a brutal, drunken husband or step father.
Orthopedic Care:
Bent over mature folks stand and walk straight again; skeletal, including back, pains relieved; flat footed children are out-fitted with special shoe inserts; little ones stumbling in their gait, are given new orthopedic shoes to help them walk and run again problem free. This expert care would be unaffordable to these poor people until now. With the help of Dr. Joel Ortiz, Orthopedic, Proyecto Refugio can now joyfully donate this care to all who has the need.
Family Health Care
At the moment, two doctors, both women, are involved in this department, attending to the general health care of our constituency. They lovingly and tenderly treat the infirmed, diagnosing their health needs and treating it with good quality medication from the free pharmacy, restoring them to good health, and enabling them to proceed with their regular activities.
